Bridget Foley once said that Vera's creations was "Beautiful, seriously designed clothes, presented with gutsy panache".

That's a really good description to describe her life and her designs.

She focuses on the designs all of her life.

Vera Ellen Wang was brought up in New York, and has Chinese descent.She studied at the University of Paris, and then got a degree in art history (Sarah Lawrence College).

Once she graduated, she was hired to be an editor at Vogue, which makes her the youngest editor there. In the next 17 years, she worked at Vogue, and left in 1987. She then worked in Ralph Lauren for 2 years. At her 40, she started her new career to be an independent bridal wear designer.

She has made bridal wear for public figures, such as Chelsea Clinton,Karenna Gore, Kim Kardashian.Michelle Obama also wear the evening wear designed by Wang.

Her book, Vera Wang on Weddings was published in 2001. In 2005, she won the prize of Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Womenswear Designer of the Year.
